Democratic State Committee Rep., Charlotte Karlsen
“Hello! My name is Charlotte Karlsen and I am a sophomore at Bates College. I came to Maine from the other Portland, Portland OR, but am happy to call Maine my new home. In addition to my position with Maine College Dems, at Bates, I participate in theater, am a tour guide, work in the academic resource commons, serve on the board of Bates Hillel, and participate in Bates College Dems. I am majoring in Politics and Rhetoric, and am concentrating in French. In my spare time, I enjoy spinning, traveling, and watching rom coms that are formulaic and offer nothing of note to the world. MCD to me is a collaborative and invigorating effort to connect young liberal minds across the state to achieve progress on a large scale. My role is to act as a liaison between the Maine Democratic State Committee and MCD to ensure that both organizations are working harmoniously toward best serving the people.” – Charlotte
